Hello! My name is Jackie Adams and this is my tenth year at Scarborough Elementary. Ten years ago, I was selected to open this beautiful school and become an original husky. At one time, Mrs. Scarborough was my special education coordinator so it is very special to be working in her namesake school. I am originally from Iowa. After graduation from high school, I received my undergraduate degree from Winona State University in Winona Minnesota. I then went on to receive my Masters of Arts in the field of communicative disorders from the University of Northern Colorado. Upon graduation, I had enough of cold weather, moved to San Antonio, and decided to become a full fledged Texan. I am currently the PPCD Teacher in the collaborative PPCD/Pre-K unit here at Scarborough. Throughout my years at Northside, I have also taught Pre-K and have been a Speech-Language Pathologist. Both of my children attend Northside schools. When not at school, my family and I enjoy sporting events, movies, traveling, being outdoors hiking, and hanging out at the lake or the beach.
I am so excited to be your child's first teacher. I truly love working with the littlest learners. Your child is going to have a wonderful year filled with many activities and successes. Most of our activities are hands on (which can get very messy). Your child will engage a rich variety of "first" experiences. You will be amazed at how far your child will grow not only academically, but socially as well. Thank you in advance for loaning your child to me to begin their educational journey.
